During the Christmas season and around Mothers Day, I would cook food in the microwave in the appliance department of the store and give out samples of the food I'd made. It was a great job! I got to choose what I cooked and everybody was very friendly. Around Fathers Day, I would stand outside the back door of the store and offer people samples of food cooked on a gas grill.<br /> The rest of the year, appliance sales were not good enough to justify my demonstrations, so I worked in a credit booth, getting people to sign up for Sears credit cards. In the school holidays I worked a 45 hour week (illegal for under 16s) and brought home about £25!
