Sara and Daniel just boarded a nine hour flight to Philadelphia. They are staying with their step-grandmother for a couple of weeks. If I´m not around much it will be because I´ll be camping out at the airport waiting for their return flight... I took this shot years ago when they were jumping on the bed together. One minute they are jumping on the bed, the next minute they are flying... away...

I knew a girl who was blue. So she painted her world pink. xoxo

Jorge´s grandmother, Amachi, lived to be 104 years old. When she hit 100 I asked her what was the secret to a long life. She told me that th...

Time will fly and before taking into account they will be in the airport door running towards you.
Now try to enjoy and do things that otherwise you could not do.
My niece is anxiously awaiting the day that she can fly to Germany. Since she is only six, we may have some waiting to do. I can remember flying when I was younger and it was so thrilling, although I can't really say that now about the 24 hour door to door trip.
... love the golf pic. With us it is the other way around, although I much prefer the driving range to the course.
Time will go quickly. Never, ever easy. All will be good. I know the feeling!!!!
i'm still enjoying the jumping on the bed stage. i cannot imagine what it will be like to wait for them to return from travelling on their own. try to enjoy the time.
Ah this is precious, lovely. I can't imagine my boys even being away from me never mind in another country (although secretly I'm rather longing for them to grow up enough to take a trip!)
cute picture Jane! I am about to get on a long flight myself. although I am so excited I already miss my little Norman Alexander and B :)
mine the oldest are only three, and still i feel the bittersweet joy from watching them grow. each new development being so amazing, but it's also a step away from us parents.
i'm with spudballoo though, i cannot wait till the day where i can send them off. to my parents in denmark on loooong summer vacations knowing they'll be spoiled and have the best time. so please do tell me that you actually managed to enjoy this time to yourself, i need to know that it's possible :)
Hello, this is a beautiful photo!
And yes, time does go rather quickly and you'll see them back very soon.
oh, stop...you know you're going to catch up on your reading, get your biz booming, bake a few cakes, eat them, snap some more fabulous pictures, nap for the first time in your life...and um, make more babies? :)
p.s. oh, and i forgot...paint your nails to match your toenails and be girlie again, they way you were once, in 2005!
wonderful photo dear jane. the time will fly definitely. as a mother i understand you so good...would like to see you camping at the airport ;-) enjoy these days in a different way. wish you a good week*
Beautiful post, so tender and wistful.
Jane- I have no littles ones, but if I did I would be right there with you. When I use to work at O'Hare the unaccompanied minors and the elderly always won my heart over the "famous" peeps who wanted to be kept out of public eye. Actually my love is going out to PHL this week too.
Love... xoxo
Such a sweet photo!
You are right ... time flies!
And before you know they will be back again as if they haven't been away demanding the usual "roomservice". Enjoy the waiting time :-)
Such a sweet pic, Jane.
It's great when they come back full of adventures, stories and jokes.
In the meantime maybe you can work at your golf handicap:)) or try to enjoy the time in another way.
What a lovely story and picture.
wow. that shot is amazing. how old were they there ? how old are they now ? flying off to phili together. that is a big adventure !!
enjoy your camping ... ha ha
what a sweet photo.
that would be so difficult for me as well...watching them fly away together...so far. you are very brave.
happy camping.
wow, robbie and ben just got back from costa rica last night - now sara and daniel are off to the states - time totally flies - unreal! love that black and white photo - i think it's time for the moms to get on the plane!
Oh! Sweet photo!!
This is a lovely post! Thank you for sharing your story. Enjoy your camping! hehe..
They'll be back in no time! Enjoy the vacation!
beautiful picture (and you just made me laugh again, 'camping at the airport'...hmmmm :-D) I hope you'll eventually enjoy your time without kids.

That is the sweetest picture!
The years do go by fast. My 18 year old just moved into her first apartment, hundreds of miles away. I cried at the airport.
how cute!!!!
Strong and beautiful... That's love...
Beautiful photo, very sweet.
Bisous Jane
I dread these days and I know they will come too quickly! Hope you and your family are doing well!
Sometimes I wish we could stop the time or make it to pass a bit slower... Since my daughter was born the time seems to be galloping...
I wish Sara and Daniel lovely time with their grandparents. The photo is wonderful, it holds such precious memories.

They are just growing up... profite !
(I'll be camping out at the airport...that line made me laugh, but only because I would do excactly the same). Gosh, you brave mother you are. Kids grow up soooooo fast and I just can't remember every single minute of their lives. I wish I could, so I take loads and loads of pictures.
My kids where at the lake Garda (30 minutes from here) and I missed them like insane. I took out some pics of long ago as well and.....well....you can figure it out yourself.
Bloody hell, now I know how my mum and grandparents felt whenever I felt like being suffocated by them.
Anyway......such a beautiful picture (again) and yes....make yourself comfortable at the airport...I understand...XXX, Carmie.
when i was a child my favorite trip were to visit my grandparents!
i really wish they have a great time in Philadelphia!!
have a nice day jane!!
beijos
I am sure that you will miss them but the time will fly and they will be having a great adventure. Just think of all the time for crafting and taking photos and just being....you!
sweet post!!
...and enjoy your camping at the airport :)
I DO know exactly what you mean. My children are grown now: 33,32, and 29 and I can still feel them in my arms as babies as I rocked them to sleep.
oh, the conundrum of being a parent! there are times when i want nothing but to get away and be alone... (my children are very young and still in the 'i need' stage) but when i'm away from them, i want them back immediately. i hope your kids have a safe and smooth trip to philadelphia and that you can relax and enjoy your freedom for a bit. easier said than done i know...
love this picture, really!
and, mmh, hope it's not to hard... ;-)
Is this the first time they fly intercontinental by themselves? I know how distance and the ocean can be big complications with bicultural families ...
