corner view "souvenir"

This week´s theme comes from the lovely Epe and is typical souvenirs from your corner. So I bring you my friends "El Caminante" (The Walker). It is the most popular meeting place in Vitoria. Some of my friends call it "Cojones" as in "¡Cojones! ¿Qué es eso?" Roughly translated it means "¡Caramba! What is that?"... As you can see, he is sporting a lovely yellow and lime green ensemble. People like to dress him up... I have no idea who... or why... but I love their sense of humor...
So how about if we meet at the caminante? You name the time.

Next week´s theme comes all the way from Maine and it´s from Jodi. She had the idea of "love".

I´m up to my wimple in sewing. So i´m going to be a little late visiting you. And thank you again for all your sweet comments. They really make my day, especially when I´m in a total panic thinking I´m never going to finish...

¡Dos besos muy gordos!

I love the walker.....we have so many statues in the city centre, but many have only been erected in the last few years so they haven't yet become as famous as the walker! We have Desperate Dan and Minnie the Minx (statues of comic book characters) and a dragon....Admiral Duncan who won the Battle of Camperdown,....but none as cool as the walker!

It's fun to think of him wearing an item from each of the corners of the world, a special Corner View caminante (hope I spelled that right).

Nice photo! Is that, (are those) really "Cojones"? Kinda hang-y if they are :) Maybe someone could put some underwear on him once? Still, an amazing statue and is that a magnolia tree? Wow!

If somebody walked away with it as a souvenir, wouldn't they get into trouble?

Probably wouldn't do their back any good either.

love the walker. dress him up in something trashy, and he could be the street walker. dress him in old folks clothes and sensible shoes and he could be gramps with the walker. ok, clearly i got up way too early and am just punchy.

but, jane, good luck on your sewing. you can do it! pedal to the metal and all that. xoxo

Hi Jane and all you other Corner View participants--I finally remembered to participate and I look forward to seeing other views as well. That statue is great and I love that people dress him up, too. I think I'd be designing outfits for him.

Sewing--hey, at least you are actually doing it. I so want and need to get to my sewing projects. Enjoy!

He is wonderfully odd - almost Giacometti like! Let's meet at Mr. Cajones and 3pm and then go for a cafe con leche :) Oh, in my dreams...

Oh I am done, my cv is pretty ready to be seen, or bought a souvenir if liked:)
Meeting at Caminante seems like familiar for me. I heard this story before, and I'm a lover of these type of corners and squares as they are typically public places where folks like to come together for sharing and fun, fun, fun.

Meet up anytimeat the caminante! But my favourite time would be dusk, just after sunset and just before dark. And you could take a little break from your sewing... My cv's will continue, hopefully next week, moving just puts so many things to the side...
