I lived in Tolosa for my first eight years in Spain. This is where my kids were born (well technically they were born in San Sebastian- the anesthesiologist in Tolosa only worked six hours a day and I couldn´t risk it.), I learned Spanish, had a language academy, and walked up a mountain every day (you should have seen my tush). This is also where I learned to be diplomatic, the merits of humility, and what a tomato really tastes like. I guess you could say this is where I finally grew up.
I´ve been really busy this past week and it doesn´t seem like it´s going to slow down for a couple more. I´ll be around soon. Don´t eat all the cookies!
Big hugs!

xo
Maybe you have told your story before, but I would love to know how a girl from the Eas Coast met a boy from Spain and fell in love. What did your parents think when you told them you were going to live in Spain? Please do tell!!!
You're a wonderful ambassadress from Spain;-) beijinhos
beautiful photos!
Gorgeous. But I can't promise anything about those yummy looking cookies...
Ah, Jane I just told my husband tonight, I'm cashing in on my 401k and running to Spain to live! After seeing this photos, wait till I tell him I am serious. smile... xo
Too beautiful, they invoke all kinds of feelings, nostalgic, melancholic, longing. And thank you for the "history" of the place. I enjoyed it.
lucky you to "grow up" and start your family in a place like this. it looks like the real deal!
loving your new big pictures - just get in touch will you when you figure out "mosaics"! (something that's still a beautiful mystery to me!)
I love all your photos, but today my favourite one is the silhouette of the old man against the backdrop of the yellow building. Wonder what he is thinking about, maybe he is reminiscing about his first kiss or thinking about his garden and what to plant this spring or just sitting there watching the life around him.
Take care and when you have a moment, we could met for a coffee.
what a beatiful place, Jane. Love the one of the man w the beret :)
That wonderful pic's and that awesome site.....
one big hug
Dany
Desde luego como embajadora eres la bomba Jane!!

Wow Jane your pictures are always sooo beautiful, they remind me a lot of the inner Euskadi, of their old traditions and their people essence.
Did you learn euskera too? It must be complicated but interesting :)
Big kisses, the light in your pictures is amazing.
Ah, I love these. You may remember I was in Valencia last year. For Easter we're off to Spain again...the Canaries that is. Two weeks of sun, pool, beach, books and not much else!
That is beautiful Jane... and what a place to feel your adult-self grow again, and become more of who you are... besos
Wow Jane. I love your story on this one.

Not an easy job to 'merge' into another culture, but I have a feeling you did a great job!
What a beautiful place. The photos are so vibrant and inviting. Thanks for the tour.

Jane, you're a hero. If you could have CHILDREN and learn a new LANGUAGE and start a SCHOOL and walk up that HILL in Spain it gives me hope for conquering this whole India thing.
Well done. Very, very well done.
