So after going back and fourth to Madrid all year... Visiting schools, neighborhoods, bothering Madrileños with thousands of questions.... A new job has found Jorge. Where? You might be wondering... in Vitoria..... I´m off to eat a gallon of ice cream and then to crawl under the covers until October....
Send me hugs... please...

fantastic Jane, I wish I was there!
I can't believe it!!! Well you may be better there because here in Madrid we have rain and storm almost each day!!
your pictures are vibrant! you take really, really fascinating and beautiful photographs.
these are so great... teatro joy may be my favorite, but you always do such a great job with choosing a collection of images to transport me to madrid and see some madrileños.

particularly like the two girls looking at two paintings..
That is a total bummer, but I guess the good thing is that now you don't have to pack. Maybe someday you can move to Madrid.
i miss spain, miss.

loved the film post with the goldfish and the jhl post too (also one of my heros - and a wonderful painter).
so.....you're not moving after all! over to Plan B?
nothing in life is ever certain is it?
Fantastic pictures as always but where is Vitoria?
I guess I will check Google maps. I hope the ice cream was good.
Sending huge hugs! Sometimes the plan really is perfect, it's just hard to see it until we are on the other side. Faith my friend! (and maybe chocolate)
HUGS!!!
MUCHOS!
beautiful photos!
hope the ice cream was delish!

Your photos are so beautiful and vibrant. I wish I had enough courage to take photos of complete strangers on the street.
If the weather there is as warm as it is here, you won't be able to stay under the covers for very long, even if you do eat ice cream.
Brilliant photos despite the fact that things didn't work out.
oh ... you really never know what the future holds, do you?! Well, at least you got to know Madrid really well!:) Hope Jorge is excited about his new job!
Ha cha cha... love these.
Big hug and a virtual bar of chocolate x

Beautiful, vibrant, full of life.
In Danish we have a saying: "Der er intet der er så skidt at det ikke er godt for noget" meaning roughly "Nothing is so bad that it isn't good for something" :-)
I LOVE those film shots!
I can not believe it! I am happy for you though, and think of all the wonderful shots of Madrid you were able take while you travelled to and fro...If you happen to take a last trip to Madrid do go to Alonso Martinez, the best terrazas and cañas! Besos!

Husband, husband, husband... Always a good surprise in reserve !
Abrazos and hope you won't feel sad to have to renounce to dreams you would have planned for your ex-new life in Madrid. And thanks for the pictures which made me travelling in time.

seriously? no madrid? wow - are you bummed? once i decide to leave a place, i'm outta there! hope you're settling back in...miss you!!!
Hi! I just popped in from Extranjera's blog (I Still Don't Know What...) because the title of yours on her sidebar caught my eye since I too live in Spain! On and off since '95, on the Med in Alicante.
These are gorgeous photos you've taken! Film?! How have you found a decent place to get them developed? That was a problem for me even before the digital age, now... yikes! No hay casi nada!
You're moving to Vitoria? I have a friend there (I'll actually be driving through in 10 days to pick her up on our way to a wedding in France). It's supposed to be lovely when the weather cooperates, and the mountains and sea aren't far off. Plus the cuisine in the Basque country is to die for! ENJOY! Y Buen Viaje!!!
