hecho en españa

I luuuv this magazine. It´s a cross between LIVING ETC and MARIE CLAIRE IDEES with a few recipes thrown in. So if you are into deco mags like me, you should definitely check out this little gem! On second thought, I hope you aren´t like me. I buy deco mags from all over and still have a naked light bulb hanging in my kids´ bathroom. There´s a Spanish saying, "in the house of an ironmonger, there are wooden knives..."

...there's also another saying that goes: " the cobbler's children have no shoes..." haha..i love that you admit to the fact that your kid's bathroom has a naked light bulb! you could always glitz it up with one of those de rigueur chandeliers seen in all these shelter mags (btw, did you know that Domino is done?), but it wouldn't have the insouciance that the naked bulb has. on your recommendation, i believe i will check out Habitania at Border's. i love Marie Claire idées too! do you still have that copy of Living, etc. with the cheap copy of a Parisian daybed à la Restoration Hardware? please don't ask me why i'm wide awake at 3:35 am and why i wrote Vincent Gallo an e-mail. we can talk about it over coffee at Old City Coffee. i love this blog...it certainly is "hecho en españa", like Daniel and Sara, Javier Bardem, good churros con chocolate and "Vicky Christina Barcelona"

looks like a nice mag. i'm the anti-decorator though. my personal spaces have always been very...ummm...well UGLY. i've got no decorating sensibilities at all.

Hi Jane!
Thanks for stopping by on my blog!
I just had a quick look at yours - you have some really gorgeous pictures up, here!! Your note about the bare light bulb made me really laugh. We've been living in our place for almost two years now and still have plenty of them bare... I got used to it, to the extent that last time I brought home a shade, I was really disappointed as it took away a lot of the light, I found...

I have never heard of this magazine. I will have to look closer at the bookstore. You even make a magazine come to life!
I love the spanish saying!
Enjoy your day!!

what a brilliant idea c/o Pascale...[lightbulb over head goes on]...Jane, why don't you, if you like, get a shade of some sort, it could even be a paper parasol and hang it upside down on the ceiling over the naked lightbulb in your kids' bathroom? i've seen it done before and it looks mahvelous. [ hope you have a stepladder if you've got one of those cathedral ceilings!]

Nice blog! In sweden we have a saying that goes something like this: The bakers children does not eat buns - I guess it´s kind of like your saying.
