corner view "out your back door or window"

For this week´s corner view theme I thought I´d be a little creative and show you some "before" and "after" views. But the gods were not smiling and I couldn´t find my "before" photos. So for my "before" photo you´ll have to imagine a view from a 17th story window overlooking center city Philadelphia (lots of tall buildings) and now to my "after"...

Thanks Joyce for this great idea. Next week´s theme is "street fashion." And, um, Joyce try not to get arrested.... Lisa, do you mind choosing the next theme? Thanks!
Have fun checking out all these great views! Besos!

I love the view - as Caitlin said, the colours are gorgeous. I was lucky as I was away for a long weekend so get to post some fabulous back door views (as well as my own back window of course, which doesn't have such fantastic views.....now my front window....that's a completely different matter.....

Beautiful streets.
And at the same time I am imagining Ben Franklin on the top of...what tower is that, it was a long time ago and I too lived in Philadelphia!
Small world.
Thanks Jane.

That Teatro Principal is fantastic with all the ornaments! Is it still in use as a theatre?
And the balcony next to it with the big vases! Stunning.

Jane I love your view. It is just what I imagine it to be! The designs of the buildings and color are truly masterpieces. Thanks!

Oh dear when I saw next weeks topic "street fashion" I thought the same thing!!!

Hugs my friend. xoxo

Now there's a thing: TV aerials. I haven't seen them for ages: it's all satellite dishes here, and they really mess up the rooftop views.

Street fashion is going to be a tough one to photograph in Oman. All of the women are totally covered in black, and taking photgraphs of them could cause a riot! So, as Caitlin says, that could be interesting.

I love these! They don't look like a Spain city to me at all! I was in Vitoria a long time and I'm thinking I must visit again soon!

Stunning pictures!

Street fashion confuses me. Does that mean taking pictures of what random strangers are wearing or the decorative aspects of certain streets? Sorry if I'm a little dense.

Is it possible for a view to be yummy?? Because that's what popped into my mind when I saw those pictures... I love how the houses are squeezed together next to each other!!

Very interesting architecture! And nice colors. Thank you Jane :)

Wow, from Philly to Spain... that's a big change no matter what floor you are on! But I imagine that the buildings in Spain are so much more interesting to look at. The interesting thing is that there is still a part of me that loves the city, but I guess as they say... you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl. Schöne Grüße.

Love the photos this week! I miss Spain so much I can hardly stand it and it's only been two months since we were there! What is it about Spain??? It is such a special place!

kyndale said...

You live in the thick of it! You must have so much fun.

Interesting corner but beautiful. Love the colors.
Next week should be interesting.

I think your "after" view has to be a lot more cosier than the view from a 17th floor. But maybe I'm wrong! I have never been to such a high building before (I think the tallest building I have been in had 6 floors :) )

Esti said...

I love Vitoria's old part of town, its atmosphere and buildings. It's been long time since I las visited... I must find some time off to come back and wander...

you can so sense the south by just looking at your view without knowing where you took these photos - gorgeous. i can even hear the sounds and feel the buzz of the streets below... :)

Hey, Jane, I didn't do Corner View today (sorry!), I was getting incredibly frustrated trying to get a good photo of a not very nice back window view, so I'll be back on board next week!

I think your "after" pretty much tops a lot of views... beautiful coloured buildings, lots of green leaves, and oh so many red roofs. Or is it rooves? Can I ask how I could play along with your meme?

Hi Jane!

I have to admit, I am stumped by "street fashion" for this week. Can you give me any hints?
