lekeitio (vizcaya)

On Saturday Berta, Jorge and I went to Lekeitio to "take pictures." Berta and I took a million pictures between us... and Jorge made friends with all the fishermen...
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful, everything has a proper Mediterranean feeling - houses, boats, seafood... More pictures like these on your blog and I am ready to set out for a journey to this mysteries Basque country.

Sounds very much like the kind of thing my husband does. When we go somewhere he always ends up chatting with whoever is around... in fact, that is how I got my dining room chairs for 30 bucks! Looks like a fabulous weekend.

I spent there one of my best summers. My mum has family living there and one year let us a flat to spent 15 days.
Like a lot this houses in the harbor, and fishermen, and see smell in the old town. Remenber how ice falled into ships. Fish wood boxes and women sewing nets.
I return there when I can.
Lovely photos.

Ps It's so funny to see how you are dressed. In Sweden with this kind of weather most people would have been sweating in shorts and tanks.

Your photos remind me of my visit to the Basque country more than ten years ago. Although I stayed in Vitoria and it was very, very cold (December) I remember people's warm welcome, especially when they found out I was Cuban.

Many thanks.

Greetings from London.
