What is a typical Sunday lunch?

Paella... really... (Remind me to post my father-in-law´s recipe!)

The family of my ex. used to have paella or pulpo (octopus).
My family really have no sunday special lunch. Probable the special thing is to go out to lunch.
And at home, my special sunday lunch is usually to cook something without running.

Sundays are usually our leftover day or grill night... anything to have a day off in the kitchen.

when i was a child, we always had roastbeef with gravy, potatoes and greens, very traditional. it was the only day though when we all sat down for lunch together. during the week we all came home at varying times so it was 'help yourself to some snack'.

these days, i don't have a sunday special, but love to meet up with friends to cook.

Roast meat: chicken, pork or beef. Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes & a variety of seasonal veggies. Homemade gravy and a stodgy British pudding like apple crumble or bread and butter pudding!

We usually grab whatever we have. Although it has become a little tradition for me to make pancakes in the morning.. mmm with crispy edges. Yum.

Sometimes it is something quick, but most Sundays it is something out of the crockpot!

Sunday is usually more of a brunch that includes my once weekly, fresh baked bagel, smeared with cream cheese and blackberry jam. The fact that someone else made the bagels makes them all the better :-)

We don't usually eat lunch on Sundays -- but we do usually grill something for dinner.

Sunday lunch is usually whatever we pick up on the way home from church. Since I shop on Monday's, the fridge is usually empty at Sunday lunch time ! So ... typical would be a nice crusty loaf of fresh bread. Sometimes a BBQ chicken or salami or ham or ... you know, something to put on it. Maybe some potato salad. Olives. mmmmm.

I'm DYING for you to post the Paella recipe ! Seriously, I've been trying to get my hands on a tried and true paella recipe for years !!

Usually something light such as soup or sandwiches as Sunday mornings are for big pancake breakfasts.
