I loved Munich. The people were friendly, the shops were gorgeous, the cafes were lovely, and the apple strudel! I wanted to bring some home in my suitcase... literally leave my clothes and just fill it with apple strudel... And then there were the pretzels (bretzels)... pretzels with butter, pretzels with cream cheese, pretzels with beer (only people from Philadelphia can understand the enormity of this discovery...)... And the beer! The best beer I´ve ever tasted... and I´ve tasted a lot of beer. So basically it was a day of eating, drinking, and taking photos... Perfection...
These are the last of them. Thank you for sitting through them with me. I feel like the next door neighbor who makes you sit through 2 hours of vacation slides... And I can´t even offer you a coffee... or a pretzel...
Happy weekend!
¡Besos!

how i wish we were sharing pretzels and beer! the last time i was in munich, it was snowing like mad and i left a pair of heirloom mittens (from my great grandmother) in a "tanz-bar" by the railway station. did you see them, per chance? :D
Oh these pictures! And I have never wanted a pretzel more!
You had me at pretzel. i'm up for more pics if you have them. They are wonderful.

that beer looks good...I've never like beer but maybe there I would...
Lived in Munich for 3 years (work related) and yes the ApfelStrudel with warm vanilla sauce is killing! (with a dash of cinnamon)...yummy. Don't like beer, but those biergartens are great. Got addicted to the pretzels (huge chuncks of salt) and this drink - forgot the name, but it's coca cola mixed with fanta. Hm....I think I need to book a hotel in Munich this weekend, thx, XXX, Carmie.
I love the atmosphere in these pictures-so full of life and food...yum!!

wonderful photos-great impressions
I'm already waiting another few more ;) I like your "reports" ! besos !
We'd go home if it were like sitting through the next door neighbor's photos! But we're still here, still happily coming back for more.
My sister and I visited Munich during our backpacking trip in 1983(we were 19!). We stayed in a hostel. We were followed back there one night by two guys. They kept a respectable distance, but we were watchful - knew they were there. When we got close to the hostel door, we heard one of them say quietly, but deliberately, "Land Shark." Then, "candy gram." We cracked up. (if you are too young to know this - early Sat Night Live - lucky you!)
I live right outside Philly and just love those pretzels. I'm happy I stumbled across your blog - your august meme looks like it was lots of fun! I'm so envious that you are (apparently) an expat living in Spain. My husband is Welsh - I hope we get to cross the pond to live one day too!
sounds like heaven.

Thank you for sharing these! I've enjoyed the virtual slide show. xo
Beautiful photos..:)
i went to munich last year and was amazed at how people really were walking around in those tyrolean costumes and eating in the beer halls. it wasn't just for tourists!
down a side street, there was a raw restaurant and my cousins, who i was with, refused to let me try it. i'm going to have to go back one day. but i'll probably need a pretzel afterwards. :-)
