the day after

(San Sebastian Port)

It´s the day after Christmas and I feel as big as a house.
Why did I eat like a pig, and not like a mouse?
The decorations are still up reminding me of good cheer.
But all I want to do is curse the champagne and beer.
Don´t get me wrong everything tasted delish.
But now I must live on lettuce and fish.
How long will this last? I´ll keep you posted.
I´m off to eat a raw carrot... oh how I wish it was roasted...

Oh...I hear ya'

These days make new years promises like "I will eat less in 2010" so much easier.

A walk makes it everything better.

Oh I know. My end of the year tight waistbands are my least favorite part of the holidays... Luckily, there is so much more to love. And the new year's resolution to drop that dress size is right around the corner...

What's the Spanish dinner like on THE day? You live in the perfect place to go on looong walks (while munching on carrots).

but wont you be needing something else once you finish your carrot? everything in moderation, including moderation!

Glad to hear that your Christmas was filled with good things to eat (and raw carrots are really only for reindeer this time of year!).

Wonderful pictures! I love the symmetry of the third one. The feeling of being overeaten will pass soon and we'll again miss the good Christmas food for the rest of the year :)

All of that blue is very bracing; and I can almost smell the salty air! (But then that reminds me of ham, turkey and stuffing, and I feel full again.)

Fun poem! I hope we all get lots of exercise in 2010.
