Hahhaa...the pushiest women??...hhaha..I'm laughing now, but I sure would kick them reaaaalll hard if I would be there. Can't stand women like that.
Looking at the bread reminds me that I still need to eat breakfast...I'm off now for a coffee and some biscuits. XXX, Carmie.

oh, i love local markets like that. in tel aviv it's all year round, every day. and there's always energy. and i'm pretty sure the ladies around here could push your ladies any day. or, they will just run you over with their little trolleys.

God I love shopping in Spain!! The food markets especially...my favourite was the food market in Barcelona (I forget the place but the one in the city centre that is open all the time). I would so tolerate pushy women if we had one here...

Hello Jane :)
Lovely photos. I LOVE markets and of course my post couldn't be about anything else :)

Hope you're having great day,

It's too bad about the bruises, but the market looks great!
The next time a man says anything about women being the weaker sex, maybe we should just sent him there with a shopping list.

this is exactly what I like!!!
no - LOVE!!!

thank you, jane! ;)

One thing I've noticed from this week's Corner View tour is that it seems to be the radish season all over the world. It is here too. They were the first vegetable that I grew successfully in my garden in Spain, so I'm rather fond of them. My peppers were a disaster.

You can see it in this country also, how for some women markets and grocery shopping in general is their time to bring out all their aggressiveness ...

Oh Jane... were your ears ringing last night? I was telling some friends, how I am falling in love with Spain. Your photos are doing it!! My husband mentioned if I needed a sabbatical I should go over there for 1-6 months. Tempting... Spain and Italy I might not come back! Then you mentioned the pushy women- I can get that here. LOL... I love your market I would be in cloud 9! Many hugs.... xoxo

DRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOL. love the jam(?) containers tied with colored ribbon or are they rubber bands. simple and beautiful.

i'm sure that you can elbow those spanish ladies out of the way to get your shopping done, jane. it's a fine art.

those artichokes look amazing ! i'd love to get my hands on a few of those !! i love the markets in spain. and i had to laugh when you brought up the pushiest women ! so true !! so so true !!

i have to say, i so enjoy this corner view each week !! it is such fun to go around and visit so many different countries ! it was a great idea you came up with ! thanks so much ...

Amazing photos! I find that it is very common here that people bump into to me and never acknowledge that anything had ever happened... they just keep going. That is why I must learn a few "come back" phrases.

This past weeks posts were also great, but I have been a little preoccupied and haven't had the time to say so. Love the view!

Pushy people anger me!! But the market looks scrumptious!

This looks so fun! But I'll be the old German ladies could give the Spanish a run for their money in the pushy department!

Crescent Moon sent me here because I just posted a market from Berlin yesterday - but I don't get how to post it?

All these markets look fantastic!

Tortas! Reminds me of when my grandmother used to make them. She was Spanish and I always loved the way she said "torta" in her accent. Ole!

I understand what you mean by the pushy women. . . happens here too. I've learned not to take it personally, but have yet to find the nerve to push back.
