my staple...

Hi everyone! Next week´s theme comes from lovely Caitlin and is "places of reflection... where you go to just be..." Kim would you mind going next? I´ll be visiting you all a little later. I´m off to S.S. to see a man about a fridge... my life is so glamorous...

P.S. I´m looking for a pen pal ("a person with whom one becomes friendly by exchanging letters"- letters... with stamps...) for Daniel so he can practice writing in English. So if you know of any kids that could be interested, send me an email with the info. (They can write in Spanish or French- if they want to practice writing too.) Actually, if there are a lot of you, we could start a little pen pal circle for kids... I like this idea... Thanks!

Thanks everyone for sharing your views!

We were just trying to decide what to have for dinner. Now I want Spanish food, but my favorite Spanish restaurant is a two hour drive away. Sigh!

These staples look more fun than mine!!! Very interested in the pen pal things. My youngest is 1 13 year old girl and she takes Spanish, and my son, 15, takes French. Let me know. xoxoxox

Amazing pictures. I love the stacked feeling and repeating.
Ah, so this is staples!
I have been living in a non-English speaking country too long, my post may be a little off, more like "basics".
I will ask my daughter about pen-pals, if you don't mind her English is so-so, but it would be good practice and I like the idea too.
Best,

Great list, Jane, and fabulous pictures as always. I feel like such an amateur when I see the photos from the other Corner View participants but I'm having a great time and perhaps a photography class is in my future!

Perfect! Paella is always on our summer time menu! Oh, so good!

I've been so interested in your corner views, and have enjoyed them immensely. I love to photograph, but my connector cord went MIA during our move. I can only upload photos when I have made arrangements in advance...

Like this week! I will be joining your corner views next week, and I am so excited!

(I write mostly at Journey Wildly, and that is where you will find me!)

And, that is enough coffee to keep us all awake for weeks! Cheers!

aimee said...

oh! COLA CAO! (that's the cocoa stuff, right?) hahaha... that takes me back... i was visiting a friend in spain eons ago, and was not a coffee drinker at the time, but wanted to join in on the fun, so i dumped a bunch of cola cao in my coffee, thinking maybe a mocha-type drink would ease me into the coffee thing. it did! i'm an addict today. minus the cola cao.

Wow, it looks like I'm a day late and a dollar short... when I first looked at your photos I thought... wow, yellow must be the color for all the product packaging in Spain.

It still cracks me up about the whole chocolate milk thing. I can still remember your post about the men in suits drinking thier chocolate milk.

Kasia said...

I'm so addicted to chocolate... that could easily be my staple food as well...

Thank you for sharing and have a sunny day :)
Un bacio,
Kasia

I love all the colors in your pictures. Everything looks so bright and cheery.

The "staples" I posted aren't quite so nutritious. :-)

Erin said...

Great selection! Olive oil is definitely something I cannot live without!

I love the idea of pen pals.. my oldest is just learning to write English himself, haven't moved on to any other languages yet.

Cate said...

jane, what bright and beautiful staples you have there. i'm dying to try cola cao, of course. they must have it somewhere here in new york. you've definitely got me wondering...

and, my kids are too young to be penpals. that is unless daniel wants a lot of letters that say my daughter's name and her brother's names over and over. i'm guessing no.

clairette said...

Hummmmm I need a paëlla... now!!!!! Love your pictures! Sorry for last week' s corner view; I didn't had the time ...

ohh, Cola Cao! It's so good. It's lovely to visit supermarkets in another countries. I enjoyed it a lot in Spain.:P The photos are great too, so colourful. :)

Jeannette said...

Wow...staple food in Spain is per definition yellow? ;)
Just for some paella I would love to go back to Spain.

Amy Bradstreet said...

Wow, beautiful photos and I agree, such colorful packaging, and olive oil is a must here, as well. I don't shop much in grocery stores, so I stuck with my family's staples. I also think it would be great to revisit the staple foods idea seasonally.

Hey, how bad is it that I don't include all the other Corner View bloggers at the end of my post? I'm not sure how to do that easily and I hope I'm not committing a major faux pas, here. Thanks!

Amy

ok my theme is going to be: the unveiling "showing your true self" cause I know carmie doesn't look like a bunch of colored pencils and you don't look like a cup of starbucks!!! hah! for those of us who have already shown ourselves, well, i guess we'll just have to come up with a creative alternative!

Ana Gonzalez said...

Se me olvidaba, el gazpacho tambien es tipico y ahora fresquito en verano esta buenisimo. Ya lo venden hecho en los supermercados.
