the best...

I was making cookies with Daniel and thought that there might be some of you (horror!) who have never had a chocolate chip cookie. This post is dedicated to you... Americans take their chocolate chip cookies very seriously. There are probably hundreds of recipes for "the best" ccc. This is the one I have used for the past 20 years. Personally, I think it´s the best... I know, not very Spanish, but the butter came from Spanish cows... And if you are wondering, this is not becoming a recipe blog... I just fell off the "no sugar", no "white flour" wagon and I´m having a bit of trouble getting back on... (I blame this blog...)

Preheat oven to 160 C. Mix in a bowl 1 stick of sweet butter (113g) at room temp with 6 tablespoons (75g) white sugar and 6 tablespoons (82g) of brown sugar until well blended. Add 1 large egg. Mix well. Add 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (144g) of white flour, a pinch of salt, and 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda. If you can´t find baking soda use baking powder. Mix well. Add 200 grams of 75% dark chocolate that has been cut into small pieces and mix well.
Drop teaspoons of batter 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until they start to brown. Let cool before attacking.

This was a great Corner View to end with. I learned quite a few interesting things about you and your corners! Thank you for all your sweet comments. And thanks for reassuring me that I´m not the only one...
¡Dos besos!

I am a CCC addict. and stick with my tried and true nestle toll house ccc recipe.
I add in good thoughts and any silly memories for who ever I am baking the cookies for as I stir all the ingredients together. I truly believe that if you poor emotion (positive emotions) into your baking or cooking the end result comes out tasting better.

Thank you again for hosting corner view. I look forward to getting back with it once we are up and running again!

until then, be well my friend!

Yum! Chocolate chip is by far my husbands favorite. I will make a batch and half of it's gone before it's even cooled.

Great corner view this week. It will be nice for a summer break and then starting back up in the fall. This summer has zipped by way too quick. Enjoy the rest of it!

Oh, those cookies look very yummy. Assuming "white flour" is the same as "plain flour" in the UK, I think we're going to have to try these tomorrow :-)

Jane what happened?! You were so excited about the zucchini recipe being sugar free. I think the wagon rolled over you. That ccc looks good, but my mom had the best recipe.:) Buenas Noches!!

yes, it's true. we americans, regardless of where we live, NEVER become too un-american for ccc!

God Bless those cookies!

I haven't tried out CCC :). I mean to say I haven't made that by myself because i was not very aware about the recipe. They taste good, one of my spanish friend sends it from spain, but that was dry dish Dry CCC..

She told that they make some good and fresh CCC, but if I will be there then only it's possible to have that fresh taste.

Hey, you told and now I am going to tryout that. :)

Thanks
James from spanish courses valencia

I love chocolate chip cookies! My son has only recently discovered that they can be used to make ice cream sandwiches, which he thinks is the new best way way to eat ice cream and cookies.
