I was making cookies with Daniel and thought that there might be some of you (horror!) who have never had a chocolate chip cookie. This post is dedicated to you... Americans take their chocolate chip cookies very seriously. There are probably hundreds of recipes for "the best" ccc. This is the one I have used for the past 20 years. Personally, I think it´s the best... I know, not very Spanish, but the butter came from Spanish cows... And if you are wondering, this is not becoming a recipe blog... I just fell off the "no sugar", no "white flour" wagon and I´m having a bit of trouble getting back on... (I blame this blog...)
Preheat oven to 160 C. Mix in a bowl 1 stick of sweet butter (113g) at room temp with 6 tablespoons (75g) white sugar and 6 tablespoons (82g) of brown sugar until well blended. Add 1 large egg. Mix well. Add 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (144g) of white flour, a pinch of salt, and 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda. If you can´t find baking soda use baking powder. Mix well. Add 200 grams of 75% dark chocolate that has been cut into small pieces and mix well.
Drop teaspoons of batter 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until they start to brown. Let cool before attacking.
This was a great Corner View to end with. I learned quite a few interesting things about you and your corners! Thank you for all your sweet comments. And thanks for reassuring me that I´m not the only one...
¡Dos besos!

that wagon is a hard one to stay on ! and these CCC's look AMAZING !! Might have to try your recipe ... although, I have a good one to !! :)
I am a CCC addict. and stick with my tried and true nestle toll house ccc recipe.
I add in good thoughts and any silly memories for who ever I am baking the cookies for as I stir all the ingredients together. I truly believe that if you poor emotion (positive emotions) into your baking or cooking the end result comes out tasting better.
Thank you again for hosting corner view. I look forward to getting back with it once we are up and running again!
until then, be well my friend!

Yum! Chocolate chip is by far my husbands favorite. I will make a batch and half of it's gone before it's even cooled.
Great corner view this week. It will be nice for a summer break and then starting back up in the fall. This summer has zipped by way too quick. Enjoy the rest of it!
xo Caitlin
I love ccc! I will take any recipe coming your way. They always look good! xoxo
You had me at "chocolate chip cookie". I can't get enough of them! Thanks.
Oh, those cookies look very yummy. Assuming "white flour" is the same as "plain flour" in the UK, I think we're going to have to try these tomorrow :-)
Ummmm triple yum!!! and JDM - he did play a great irishman in PSILY!!!
Chocolate cookies are the best!!!
Jane what happened?! You were so excited about the zucchini recipe being sugar free. I think the wagon rolled over you. That ccc looks good, but my mom had the best recipe.:) Buenas Noches!!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
yes, it's true. we americans, regardless of where we live, NEVER become too un-american for ccc!
God Bless those cookies!
I think this recipe is quite spanish, or at least european: thanks for all the suggestions on how to replace the original ingredients, cc included!
Oh so many recipes to try out - I may turn into a Martha Stewart!. My kids will make me try this one though.
Thank you for Corner View, I am learning a lot too.
Have a great break
thanks for being the perfect corner view host - and have a lovely, lovely holiday!
:)
thank you!
i'll try next time with your recipe
Love a good ccc! Thanks for sharing.
Will try!
Although will have to take them to work, because only for me....
Will tell the story.
Have a great summer. See you in September
I haven't tried out CCC :). I mean to say I haven't made that by myself because i was not very aware about the recipe. They taste good, one of my spanish friend sends it from spain, but that was dry dish Dry CCC..
She told that they make some good and fresh CCC, but if I will be there then only it's possible to have that fresh taste.
Hey, you told and now I am going to tryout that. :)
Thanks
James from spanish courses valencia
Oh for goodness sake Jane....because of you MY diet is going down the drain! Double yummie...another recipe that I must try. Mark will be sooooo happy...it´s his favorite sort of cookies.
Big hug, Jeannette
I love chocolate chip cookies! My son has only recently discovered that they can be used to make ice cream sandwiches, which he thinks is the new best way way to eat ice cream and cookies.
Yes, I will definately try this recipe! Strange, I've been craving CCC's lately and you post a homemade recipe I can't resist. Ahhh...sweet sugary bliss!
I know that each time I bake a batch of chocolate chip cookies for Italians that they will be a guaranteed success! They love, love, love brownies as well :)
I think I will try ... right away !!!
Yummy post!!! :P
So thanks and have a sweet time! :)
Yum! And I didn't participate in CV this week - I was completely stumped. Strange... I'll be ready in September!
Thanks for sharing!
Jane, I hate to break it to you, but my Mom actually makes the best CCC in the world (but doesn't everyone say that?) Thanks for reminding me just how much I miss these sweet treats... I just might have to have another cook until you drop session.
