love this question i was talking about this with my sister yesterday, so here i go:
#1 Pride and Prejudice; #2 Casablanca; #3 The English Patient; #4 The sound of music; #5 Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban (don't laugh of me :) but i love HP's movies).
Pride and Prejudice, Love Actually, The kite runner, Slumdog Millionaire and Mumbai Salsa. It was hard to pick only five though. There are so many great movies! And the ones I like the most change all the time. Tomorrow I would probably say some other ones, haha.
This is always such a hard question! But then I try to think of movies that I can watch again and again and never tire of them:
Harold and Maude Rushmore The Royal Tenenbaums Sense and Sensibility Truly, Madly, Deeply Elf (my favorite holiday movie - even though it's kind of new, I consider it a tradition to watch it every year)
hmmmm...let's see tough one... too many... Chocolate; A Good Year; Under The Tuscan Sun; Love actually; (a good Bollywood film like) Gabi Gushi Gabi Gum; :)
everchanging but top of my head and in no particular order:
- chunking express - lost in translation - volver - delicatessen - vertical ray of the sun - night on earth - fargo - guess who's coming for dinner - the way we were (haven't seen this one in bloody yonks, actually, will have to do s/thing about it soon!)
my dinner with Andre (malle) the double life of Veronique (kieslowski) The cook, the thief, his wife and her lover(greenaway) the piano (campion) an angel at my table (campion) and also chinese films like hero and house of flying daggers (yimou zhang) crouching tiger and hidden dragon (ang lee)
