summer farewell

These were taken on our last day in Zarauz. I had got up early and headed down to the beach with my camera for one last walk. It´s a ritual that my mother started years ago when I was a little girl. At the end of the summer we´d always go down to the water´s edge and say thank you and goodbye. It was always bitter sweet. I would be sad that summer was ending, but also looked forward to the new beginnings that awaited me. Just as I was leaving I saw this...

What a great way to say goodbye to summer!
Now I´m off to see the rest of what I´ve missed. I allready saw some pics of Munich. By the look of it you had a great summer to say goodbye to. ;)

What a lovely tradition! I am a bit behind the posts and just saw the Coco and Dean label but could not see very well what was inside. Is it your label? If so, What do you make? (love the name by the way)

I like that tradition. We will still have a few more weeks of summer here in Georgia before it becomes fall. No signs of the trees changing colors yet. It has only slightly cooled off.

It's a nice tradition. We say goodbye to summer when we use the fireplace for the first time in the season, hopefully in October (and we're lucky not to have to say goodbye to the sea).

You have an incredible eye for photography, I hardly know which post to comment on they are all so amazing!

I love the idea of saying goodbye to summer in this way. We are saying hello to Spring here and looking forward to the impending summer, so I'm happy to say goodbye to winter!
