Jorge and I left the house with a map of northern Spain, a GPS, and written directions that a friend had emailed me. We still managed to get lost. So between veo veo (spanish kid´s game... hey- we can play too), Bruce Springsteen (I needed a little pick me up), a billion km of winding roads (it was only like a cm long on the map...), and me threatening to throw up in Jorge´s lap (his fault we got lost)... I shot some photos... We made it and we were only an hour late.... We are definitely getting better...

What a beautiful road I love the country... so lovely, I can see you have colors too !!!
Just one hour it's alright isn't it?!
Hopefully it gives you time to take these beautiful pics!
looks like you had a good time= quality time
I love that shot with the soda bottles - it's timeless
I get carsick, too. I must be the driver for the mountainous, narrow, winding ones. Too funny and very beautiful. Thank you for these, Jane!
It was a beautiful place to get lost in!
We take crystalized ginger along on car rides to help with car sickness. It really does help.
I <3 veo veo!
Looks like a beautiful place to get lost though :o)
That bend in the road photograph on top is superb. Loveliness all around in your photographs.
Gorgeous! your photos always provide me with a moment of fascinating beauty each day.
I am loving that cow :-)
Glad you finally got to where you were going.
Have a great week.

Every time you post photos of Spainish Country side it makes me want to spend a gazillion years exploring Spain. Those mountains are amazing. So jagges. You wonder what story they have to tell. We always get lost too because my husband is so stuborn too. He hates to ask for directions and is in total denial that we need a GPS system.
I love the yellows and oranges and yellowy-greens of the shots. And that cow -- is it real? He's so huge!
Beautiful country side!! And such a sweet cow ;-)
Wow gorgeous photos! I can get lost with a gps and map in hand too. No sense of direction at all here!
I Love the cow! Looks like it may need a blanket!
It looks like the cow is thinking, "Isn't this the third time that these crazy humans have passed by here?"
Gorgeous! I get incredible carsick - I can't look at a map or anything in a moving car.
Are all your photos film or do you also have a digital camera?
It's been too long that I haven't listened to Bruce Springsteen. I have to pull out a song of his and follow in your example and DANCE!!!
Looks like a beautiful road,
happy week to you, Jane!
PS there was a fun c.v. gathering in my dream last nite, you were there of course, and brought in some fun, thanks for the unexpected drop-in surprise:-)
I don't want to know that GPS is no help: it's the gadget that I covet, even though there's only the one road around here.
But those pictures did tell of a scenic route. Sorry to hear that you threatened to throw up (I don't travel well also). But I hope you guys had fun in the end!
Incredible pictures! I received mine by the way....They are hung already. Thanks so very much for your generousity!
very inspiring. and a beautiful place. nothing better than getting lost with a man in a car ;-) happy week*
oh wow!
not so bad to get lost if you can see all that!
Ha ha !!! Thanks to the GPS... you are here today ;) with beautiful photos...
Oohh... there are so beautiful!
lol! but seriously, i hope you managed to enjoy being a little lost (i think you did :) cause it really looks like an amzing route, you chose (or didn't really choose...)
:-))) congratulations!!! It it a girly thing to get lost and late??? have a nice day
ha ha. when we first moved to this part of the country, i took my kids to the zoo. it is 15 minutes from my house. took us 2 and a half hours to get there ! i drove an hour out of the way before i realized i was SO FREAKING LOST ! my kids were not happy ! ha ha. I wasn't either but I just laughed for about an hour ! I had no choice ... it was just me and them and at 4 and 2, neither of them was going to be able to drive if I broke down crying !!!
glad your scenic route is so pretty!
Those winding roads that leave one a little queasy after driving them remind me of home. I imagine that the leaves are turning the most brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow right now.
Country roads, take me home...
beautiful photos!!
I would be lost all the time in that amazing place, too!!! We mailed your sweet boy a letter yesterday. Keep on the lookout!!!!!
This sounds a lot like getting lost in Sicily, which is something that happens to me A LOT. All I can say is, at least it's scenic!
What a lovely countryside drive! Bruce Springsteen makes great driving music too.
Well, it was worth getting lost to get these beautiful pictures!
where were you heading?
(I kinda hate the veo-veo game myself, so we changed the rules...)
i don't know why you would call THAT lost. i'd call it gorgeous. how blessed you are to have such a breathtaking backyard!
p.s. i'm not sure i'm listed among the cv links. would you check for me? thanks!
xo
with scenic views like that I wouldn't mind getting lost for an hour! ......and just as long as it's not my fault though!!
lovely pictures. I'm loving the cow!
Love those pictures. Especially the cow one.
muy intrigada con el pueblo, las montañas me han recordado a Orbaneja, preciosas las fotos.
one hour? that's it? my husband and i cannot find anything at any time. probably even with a GPS.
did you stop in at that store for directions? how is that the spanish make even the bodega look more glamorous?
You make a day lost on the road a great report with amazing photos!!
Love your blog, do I really have to tell you AGAIN??
hahahaha
hope your daughter is fine and that she chose the right bachillerato way
millions of besos

hey, the photos made it worthwhile for sure! and to hell with those gps devices. a few months ago i was traveling to arkansas and the moment i got to fort smith it delivered me to the parking lot of a plastics factory.
What could be sweeter than a sunny fall day and a loong country drive?
(Deep sigh)
Sometimes blessings seem disguised, but there they are...right up front!
Happy Monday :+)
that is beautiful and great shots!
looking forward to my first corner view wednesday
i had to laugh reading your post, because the photos are so breathtaking, i was thinking sentimentally "ohhhh the scenic route is gorgeous..." and then you mentioned throw up. i needed the laugh..not intended at your expense!
