thank you Jane for the glimpse to Madrid! i once was there, years ago, stood in a square, saw the people around, music was coming from somewhere unknown, it felt like home, slightly different faces, different language, i thought i could stay and live here and get older

It looks more colorful than it did in 1965 when I was there. I do remember staying in a hotel that had a little balcony like the ones you have posted. I still have my Majorca pearls I bought with my last $20.

Oh, these photos are so beautiful. They take me back to my trip to Madrid two years ago, when I fell in love with the Parque del Retiro. But I never saw a bakery with such delicious looking cookies - if I ever have the chance to go back, I'm definitely tracking down that shop and sampling! Thanks for taking us on a tour : )
