Llanes is a small fishing town on the coast of Asturias in northern Spain. We stopped here to have lunch. We had 1/2 kilo of percebes (barnacles- a Spanish delicacy), a dozen scallops, mussels, grilled squid, fried chicken with garlic, and fabadas (white bean stew). Lunch for five, including dessert and cider was 80€... Esti just fell off her chair.

Have a great weekend!

Sounds divine. My husband and I traveled to the Canary Islands this past January. We stayed in a small, local, fishing village, and revisited our favorite restaurant we had discovered on our honeymoon. This small restaurant, which caught the fish on their family boat that morning, brought the fish to our table for approval before they prepared it... ohhhh, with lots of garlic. I had never had fish before that literally melted in my mouth.

Love this post & photos! Looks like a beautiful little town in Spain that could use some Colorado re-locators?!

Jane... you make me laugh!! I didn't fall off my chair, but I really thought... well... wow!!!
(however, I'm afraid I'm more into meat than fish... but I was amazed anyway...)
Llanes is a favourite of mine too. And your pictures have sprung the nostalgia inside me
