What is something you do that makes you a happier person?
I´ve stopped watching the news. I live in ignorant bliss. OK, I do occasionally listen to NPR (public radio) just to make sure California is still where it´s suppose to be...
P.S. That was a great CV. I love learning more about all the places I´m going to visit some day!...( I´m still making my way around the world...) Thank you!
¡Dos besos!

Just being myself.
Not always is easy. But when I feel I am what I like to be, that´s makes me so happy.
Have a great long weekend.
See other people smile and be happy ;) Have a nice week-end !
Exactly -- the news makes me sad and angry all the time. As if I am not already a sad and angry person?
Well, most of the time, a simple good cup of coffee or strong tea makes me a happier person. Just for the day.
to do something with my hands... to cook, to draw, to garden, to knit... all those things make me happy and just dreaming ; ) Bises
no news for me too!
making things, just like cabrizette just said, makes me happy.
or doing things that inspire me. looking-and-sight-seeing.
making photo's.
and praying.
and being outside, in the fields an feel the wind and rain and sun, and air. [so we're moving, from in-town-where-is-the-sky to a small farmers house with a piece of own land][just can't wait] :))
j'essaie de comprendre ce que tu écris....je progresse lentement...cette photo est superbe!
je suis vraiment contente d'avoir découvert ton blog grâce au corner view.
bonne fin de semaine Jane.
puttering - either in my creative space, or flipping through cookbooks, that sort of thing. puttering = happy times
yoga makes me happy....i became a little yoga addict these days. and spending my money for handmade things like art or fashion makes me happy too. and yes, every morning a cup of coffee and everything is fine. have a wonderful weekend*
Happier I get when I find a quiet moment and hear the birds' songs; I am happy when I feel strong (being where I want to be and doing what I wish to do) and healthy; so, I try to trace those moments, save energy, work out a bit, enrich and share the experience, work with my mind and with my hands, dream while I am awake.
This life, as I described it, gets so simple that scares me. :) (I hope you understand)
best wishes!
love myself -makes me see life more clearly and gently.
wow, jane, You have great photos here!
Sharing things-moments-meals- etc. with lovely people... And the sun helps me a lot!!!
I like to live in ignorant bliss... Have a nice day!
For me happiness is in small things.
A beautiful sky..a cup of coffee in the garden with my friend...crafting...blogging...happy kids in the house...spending a day with Mark.
It doesn´t take much to make me happy. :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
I love being with my two little ones first thing in the morning when we don't have to rush out the door. They are quiet and sleepy and they let me kiss and hug them. On another note, complete silence makes me happy. Especially in my office. it destresses me.
Going to the gym. I hate working out, but I love the way it makes me feel when I am done.
I enjoy time with friends and famil and....I do outdoor conservation volunteer work - a good dose of destruction is always good for the soul!!
Do you think if you ever want to visit my city?! :)
Taking my big black lab for daily morning walks makes me happy. We have one on one time, no baby, no husband. Just us and the fields near my house. Love that.
Have a great weekend!
many things, lucky me! making things, sharing time with my family, my friends, watching nature, seeing art, to swim in a the sea, to swim, dancing... so many things!
dos besos? i send you 3!
happy we!
Hearing my 88 year old Mother laugh. It's so cute!
making with my hands....anything....i wish i could "make" for a living....

I set up multiple bird feeders in my yard and I find watching the birds makes me feel peaceful. Also, working on art projects with my husband in the next room working on his projescts, and always the kitties beside us.
That's funny, I'm not a news watcher either. I just get too invested and sad. I get a lot of crap about it. Now, I'll just say "Jane does it too!"
I also make sure to try and cut myself some slack. I used to run around trying to be perfect and lately I have just been saying "Cait, you can't do it all, you just can't."
To finish a book then I can start another one!
I try to see my life as failure or succes but just as a series of experiences .....
Go outside. The fresh air always seems to clear my head and make me smile. xoxox
Definitely going outside for a hike, snowshoe, bike ride -- all on a trail, not on the road. And being ignorant. No news here, either! Have a beautiful, ignorant weekend, Jane!
i love your picture. what lens did you use?
I completely agree about the news, especially on commercial stations which give you the impression that the world is stuffed to the rafters with murderers, violent people and paedophiles. My current favourite thing is to sit under the maple trees and watch my children play xoxo
trust in myself.
When we start to doubt everything falls apart.
I too have stopped watching the news.
In fact, my husband is watching it right now in the other room as I catch up on blogs.
I turn to the internet for my news where I can control what I read.
I used to love the BBC World news I somehow feel like they're just bringing you the facts. US so called newschannels are really just a bunch of opinionated talking heads, they'll twist your mind if you let them.
I so love your blog, this is where I come to see what really matters in the world!
Being able to be totally honest. Checking things off of my To Do list. Ice cream. Sweet/thoughtful notes :)
Being thankful for what I have makes me happier, reading your sunny blog helps too :+)
excluding my family, of course...
most definitely crafting. sewing, writing, photography. in fact i just blogged about this (again) on monday.

I'd like to say that I stopped watching the news too - but I never watched it to begin with.
I use a lot of home spa products. I never used to do anything like that - but I feel like I'm pampering myself. Something else I rarely did before.
I'm with you. I've stopped watching or listening to or reading the news. My Mom would come to me and ask me what do I think of this and that. And she would be so surprised that I do not know this and that.
Have a great weekend.
I would love to visit all over the world! Corner view is the best! Thanks, Jane! ox
As you might imagine- crafting makes me happy!
that i live in the country.
that makes me happy every day.
to be able to use my time like i want= not to hurry.
to do something with my hands.
and no news for me either, thank you!
I LOVE THAT PHOTO!!!! Seriously, it's wonderful...swooooon xx
cool photo, walks, good food and company, simply things in life, that's all!!
Being at one with myself, 100% me!
Making my children happy, hearing laughter in the house.
Trying to enjoy the present.
No news either.
Going to yoga makes me a happier person and I do adore the movies -- especially by myself in the middle of the day, with popcorn and a Diet Coke.
I eat a small piece of dark chocolate every single day. Some days "small" is bigger than others :-)
xo
time on my own. whether it is spent resting, thinking, starring into the air, or with creativity, reading or something active. i need alone time or i get insane. and turn into a nasty monster.
but i relate to the no-news thing. i tend to ignore them too, cause with the news here in the middle east you really don't know whether to laugh or cry. it's so sad, so insane, and honestly just too stupid that people cannot live and let live. in peace.
over the past year, i have weeded out the people in my life that are not real friends. for me, it wasn't easy at first. it has brought so much more joy to my everyday life that it's sort of astounding.
and throughout my life, baking, reading a juicy novel, and dancing around to ABBA (or something like it) has made me instantly happy.
p.s. no news for me either. last year i had a sitter who would come in taking about one horrible thing on the news after another. i weeded her out as well.
Being outside, yoga, being with friends and family... all the usual. I'm pretty easy to please.
Love the shot!
Happy New Week!
Me too! I stopped watching the news! A good night sleep makes me happy, but it doesn't happen very often!
feeding people and cooking for a crowd
great shot
getting lost in my head for a few hours uninterrupted...
I go out exploring all by myself!! I need that so badly and frankly I'm a bit terrified of the thought of becoming a mom one day and not being able to be just ME anymore... Guess I'll have to take lots of lonely walks now so I have some saved for the future ;-)
Drinking.
meditation on a regular basis
to draw
to watch the wire or mad men
:)
I listen to NPR every day unless I'm too buried in my work...for some reason NPR does not have the uglifying effect on me that other news media has. It soothes me.
But the one bottomless wellspring of happiness in my life is our daughter. Actually, I'd have to say our family of three. I never knew, lone wolf that I have ALWAYS been, that a little family unit could bring so much overwhelming joy.
I also live in ignorant bliss without the news. Got into the habit when living in Japan (and couldn't understand the broadcast).
A simple cup of tea and my 12 week old daughter brighten every day for me :)
